Every morning as he walks to work, Jack Hoffman sees the results of his work to help revitalize Grand Rapids. From his Heritage Hill home to the offices of Kuiper Orlebeke (in the city's oldest commercial building), he strides past brick and mortar results of his legal practice, as well as his pro-bono work: advice and counsel for both nonprofit and private businesses to create affordable housing, helping clients navigate new market tax credit laws or earn tax-exempt financing, and legal support for development projects throughout the area.
Jack has also developed a rare— but widely recognized and frequently consulted— expertise in healthcare overcharging, a specialty that has found him representing patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers in a variety of cases throughout the state.
Jack and his wife Rebecca are active in the Grand Rapids historic and urban community. They have one daughter, Elizabeth, who lives in Chicago while pursuing a graduate degree in public history.
